The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Nigeria has honoured outstanding professionals with its prestigious presidential awards for their significant contributions to the logistics and transport sector.

Speaking during the Annual General Meeting dinner night which held in Lagos last week, the President of the institute Mrs. Mfon Usoro noted that  the award is a testament to their significant contributions to the logistics and transport sector.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) and dinner,  which celebrated Nigeria’s diverse talents also honoured exceptional professionals with prestigious awards.

One of the evening’s highlights was the presentation of the CILT Presidential Appreciation Award to Mr. Bashir Mohammed Ambi, Chairman of the CILT Lagos State Chapter of the institute

Ambi shortly after receiving the award expressed his gratitude, stating, “I feel honoured and I am grateful. This is like a certificate, and I hope to add more to the institute. It is a responsibility; nothing good comes easy. I will continue to work hard to see that we move the institute to a viable position, a very good vantage position.”

Reflecting on the state of transport and logistics in Nigeria, Ambi acknowledged the industry’s progress despite challenges such as infrastructure issues. He emphasized the institute’s commitment to addressing these challenges and closing the skill gap in the transport and logistics sector through training, awareness, and stakeholder sensitization.

Also honoured was  Dr. Chijioke Kingsley Ukadike, the Head of the Corporate and Strategic Communications Department at the Nigerian Ports Authority, Rivers Port Complex, Port Harcourt.

Dr. Ukadike, a Chartered Fellow of CILT and the Chairman of the Cross River State Branch, was honored with the President’s Appreciation Award for his significant contributions to the logistics and transport sector.
