A 42-year-old clearing agent, Toyin Ayinla, was arraigned before an Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, on Friday for allegedly selling a family land for N950,000.
Ayinla is facing a six-count charge of conspiracy, false pretences, stealing, fraud and forgery.
Police prosecutor Frank Inah told the court that the defendant fraudulently sold a portion of land belonging to one Adijat Adegoke to Gabriel Onyema and Biodun Sikiru.
Inah said the accused also forged the receipt, name and logo of the Kosoko Family, purporting same to be the original.

He said the accused, who resides at No 1 Imogo Compound, Akinsan, Alimoso, Lagos, committed the crime between Jan. 18, 2008 and April 28, 2008 at Imogun Compound, Iba, Lagos.
Inah said the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 312, 363,378 and 409 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State, 2011, but the accused pleaded not guilty.
Magistrate M.O Olubi granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case to Dec. 12 for further hearing.
