CRFFN VS LUCKY AMIWERO “My Hands Are Clean” says Tony Nwabunike

The Chairman, Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria  (CRFFN), Mr Tony Nwabunike has denied any involvement in the travails of the national president, National Council of Managing Directors of Licensed Customs Agents, Mr Lucky Amiwero.
Mr Amiwero who was recently allegedly removed as the national president of his association and who was subsequently arrested by the Police and detained at the Kirikiri prison in Lagos on the orders of the court has insisted that the CRFFN was part of the conspiracy that led to his travails.
He had told Shipping Position Weekly recently that a gang-up of some persons within the freight forwarding profession was responsible for his purported removal and the events that followed. But last week, the CRFFN chairman said that as much as he empathised with Amiwero, it was unfair to associate him or the CRFFN with the unfortunate incident.
“Till date there has not been any form of official complaints or reports to the CRFN about the leadership crisis rocking the NCMDLCA aside from the reports which we read from the pages of newspapers”, he explained.
According to him, “the CRFFN as a regulator body of freight forwarders and freight forwarding associations does not interfere in the internal affairs of any association except when requested to do so. Furthermore, the CRFFN can not beg to interfere in the internal affairs of any association”.  Nwabunike also assured that the CRFFN will strife at all times to engender peace and justice and also ensure that the desired leadership is enthroned within the body of freight forwarders.
