The Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service , Alhaji Abdullahi Dikko Inde has deployed five brand new Toyota Hilux vehicles to one of its anti smuggling arm; the Ogun State Command as part of efforts to stem the tide in smuggling activities within the border communities.
Customs Area Controller of the command; Comptroller Haruna Mamudu made this known during a press briefing in Ogun state last week.

Customs Area Controller of the command; Comptroller Haruna Mamudu made this known during a press briefing in Ogun state last week.
According to him, the Comptroller General of the service has put in place facilities to curb the illicit business of smuggling and men under his watch are battle ready to nip such practice in the bud. "I make it bold to delightfully announce to you that five new Hilux vehicles were allocated to the command for its operations. "
"The command heartily thanks the Comptroller General of Customs Dikko Abdullahi Inde CFR for this gesture.” the comptroller commended.
He further warned smugglers that the service under his watch has the required logistics to checkmate illegal business within the borders.
“let me use this forum to sound a note of warning to smugglers in Ogun state that we are now more equipped to tackle them, unless they renounce their illegitimate business of smuggling."
Mahmudu stated that there was a major increase on duty payable on imported vehicles adding that unscrupulous importers have been reconditioned by the effective anti smuggling campaign since assuming office.
