Embrace Excellence in Your  Newly Attained Ranks, PTML CAC Urges Newly-Promoted Officers

Comptroller Saidu Abba Yusuf, Customs Area Controller of Ports Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Command, has encouraged newly promoted officers to embody excellence in their roles. Emphasizing the importance of punctuality, timelines, and overall discipline, while congratulating the officers on their promotions.

 

In a press statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of PTML Command, CSC Yakubu Muhammad ,the CAC PTML reinforced the call for excellence among the newly promoted officers highlighting punctuality as a key virtue for achieving productivity, emphasizing its impact on revenue collection, trade facilitation, and anti-smuggling efforts. He commended the officers for maintaining the good image of PTML as a model port and stressed the significance of time-consciousness in their duties.

 

“I want to urge all promoted officers to grow into their new ranks by showing excellent examples to their subordinates, being loyal to the service, and respectful to their superiors,” stated Comptroller Yusuf. He linked the success of cargo clearance at PTML, achieving a record-breaking three-hour release for compliant traders, to the adherence to timeliness.

 

Yusuf reminded officers that their new ranks mark the beginning of more tasks, urging them to embrace responsibility without excuses. He highlighted the Customs partnership with stakeholders, emphasizing the identification of challenges for effective solutions.

 

For officers still awaiting promotion, Comptroller Yusuf advised them to persist in their hard work, assuring that recognition will manifest in due time. Newly decorated Chief Superintendent of Customs ME Ojo Ede conveyed gratitude on behalf of the promoted officers, acknowledging President Bola Tinubu, Minister of Finance and NCS Board Chairman Mr. Wale Edun, CGC Wale Adeniyi, and the Customs Area Controller for their leadership.

 

In response, Alhaji Taiwo Mustapha, Board of Trustee Chairman of the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), congratulated the promoted officers on behalf of stakeholders present at the event.
