Five star Terminal Acquires Liebber Crane For Efficiency

In order to ensure easy clearance of vehicles and containers out of its terminal at the Tin Can Island port in Lagos, frontline Roll-on Roll-off [RORO] terminal, Five Star Logistics Limited has acquired a Liebber mobile crane so as to further boost service delivery.
The vehicle terminal operator said that security of imported vehicles and other consignments handled by the terminal has also improved since the company took over the terminal at Tin Can Island port in 2006.

The vehicle terminal operator said that security of imported vehicles and other consignments handled by the terminal has also improved since the company took over the terminal at Tin Can Island port in 2006.
In a statement sighted by Shipping Position Daily, in Lagos last week, the company revealed that the Liebber crane has a lifting capacity of 124 tonnes and a radius range of 48 metres, which is meant to position containers properly for easy access of both new and used vehicles imported into the terminal for easy exit.
Executive Chairman of Comet Group of companies, owner of Five Star Logistics, Mr. Musa Danjuma was quoted as saying that since the company took charge, there has been a massive improvement in the terminal capacity for vehicles and other consignments.
He also called on the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) as the landlord of the ports to speed up various road construction projects around the Tin Can Island Port Complex, so as to ensure flawless movement of vehicles and other cargoes cleared from the terminal.
He said that the security profile of the terminal has been taken to the highest level even as the company’s customer care unit has been ranked among the best concessionaires of the Nigerian seaports.
The Executive Chairman implored the management of the NPA to fast track the completion of the repairs at the quay wall in order to allow the dredging of the water to reach an appreciable draft of 12.50 meters.
