Newly – promoted Assistant Comptroller-General (ACG), Enforcement; Tahir Musa has disclosed that the Federal Operations Unit, Zone ‘A’, Ikeja, Lagos which he presided over as controller until recently impounded assorted goods valued at N2.4 billion in 2009.

Tahir made the disclosure last week in Lagos while handing over the leadership of the command to his successor, Comptroller Emmanuel Kane.

Giving a further breakdown of the command’s performances in 2009, the ACG added that N421.8 million was generated as revenue in the year under review, while 113 suspects were arrested and prosecuted out of which five were convicted.

Canvassing support for the new Controller, the ACG urged officers to extend the same co-operation given him to the in-coming command boss; even a she acknowledged that personnel of the command contributed immensely to his elevation to the elite rank of ACG which automatically makes him a member of the management of Nigeria Customs Service.

Also canvassing support for the new management of the Service, ACG Tahir said that with the young and dynamic leadership of the service, salaries had been enhanced and that a vibrant capacity building system as well as good information technology system which he said played vital roles in customs activities are being put in place.

Responding, the new controller, Emmanuel Kane urged officers to rededicate themselves to the service adding that there is no room for complacency.
