Those who spoke particularly condemned the governing council for its failure to issue certificates of induction to the inducted freight forwarders as well as its failure to conduct elections at the right time.

Speaking with Shipping Position Daily in Lagos yesterday, Deputy President of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) Mr Ugochukwu Nnadi expressed disappointment at the council, saying that the dissolution has been long overdue.
Nnadi said that the tenure of the board was characterized by litigation because, according to him, they never took the time to study the Act that established the CRFFN so that they can pilot the activities of the council successfully.
"We went for accreditation and induction, and even after the process we are yet to receive our identity cards which we have paid for, some people have not even received their certificates, so what have they been doing all these while?
"The dissolution is long overdue, the minister should sit down and constitute a board that will be there for three months, during which elections will be conducted and new people can come in", he advised.
Also speaking with our correspondent, a chieftain of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Custom Agent (ANLCA) Alhaji Akanni Balogun explained that the governing shot itself in the foot when it decided to register the three freight forwarding associations; namely: AREFF, NAFAC and Council of Managing Directors; which he described as mushroom associations.
"They started very well, but at a particular time they ended up confusing themselves, how can you register a factionalized association like the Council of Managing Directors of Licensed Customs Agents?, he asked.
According to him, the plan of the CRFFN with this step was to destroy ANLCA and that was why agents did not agree with the council.
