A cross section of the operators expressed satisfaction on the easy process of exiting vehicles from the terminal even as they stressed that in recent times, imported vehicles spend lesser days at the terminal unlike what it obtained in the past.

Aare Sanni Shittu told Auto Port Weekly in Lagos last week, that the terminal operator has improved in the aspect of vehicle clearance.
He said “without bias, I must say that within two days if a vessel berths, one will get his vehicle cleared from the PTML terminal and the only time clearing of vehicles out of the terminal takes days is when you have issues with customs".
He said most agents castigate the terminal operator because of false declarations on their vehicles but added that, "it is only when your document is false that you encounter delay on such vehicles awaiting clearance”.
The ex-president of ANLCA reiterated that the terminal operator has no hand in the delay of vehicles at its terminal, pointing out that equipment are on ground to discharge vehicles from the vessels down to the terminal.
He said that "vehicles are cleared from PTML in 48 hours as far as you don't have false declaration on the vehicle as regards age limit; the terminal operator has the right equipment to handle the vehicles, so it has been smooth”.
On his part, an agent under the auspices of Save Nigeria Freight Forwarders Importers Exporters Coalition; Festus Nnoli also confirmed that the terminal operator has improved in the clearance of vehicles.
He added that, "the only area that the terminal operator should improve on is the transfer of vehicles because we have challenges in that area, but apart from that, the terminal is very effective and efficient".
