In preparation for elections into its Governing Council, the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN), has began massive registration of members of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) at its secretariat in Festac Town, Lagos.

Shipping Position Daily correspondent who  was witness the commencement of the data capturing for some National Executive Committee (NECOM) members of the association reports that there was a large turn out of ANLCA members.

An official of the CRFFN who refused to give his name told our correspondent there were certain fees attached to the exercise. According to him, application for new members of ANLCA to be capturedthe  on CRFFN register is N5,000 while registration fee for both new and existing members is N7,000. He also said that the Council is collecting subscription fee of N10,000 for only  2008.

He said, "the application fee is N5000,registration is N7000 and annual subscription for 2018 is N10,000. The data capturing started today (Monday) and it is going to extend to all chapters of ANLCA from tomorrow"

"Existing members are not going to pay for application fee,  but they would pay for registration and annual subscription", he said.

Also speaking with our correspondent, the National Publicity Secretary of ANLCA, Mr. Joe Sani said that the registration and data capturing is taking place simultaneously at the Eastern and Western Zones of the association.

He said that the headquarters is sending out a message to all its chapters to mobilise all ANLCA members for the CRFFN exercise.

"The governing council elections of the CRFFN is coming up on the 29th of June,  you are also aware that we have been in court, thirdly, you are also aware that we have not been participating actively in CRFFN affairs"

"When we got wind about the conditions that CRFFN laid down, we had to call a meeting of our members and inform them of our situation, after this our national president proposed to apply political solution to it especially these onorous conditions that has been placed on associations"

"What we saw was that most of these conditions were fixed to deprive ANLCA members from participating in that elections.

The President got the mandate of the members from the west and the east and he was able to get us a good condition.

After all this have been done, we thought that we needed to register our members and here we are today,  trying to get our members registered"
