The number of buses otherwise known as LAGBUS is gradually on the increase around the ever busy automobile market and some dealers at the market who spoke to our correspondent have expressed divergent views on the new development.

The number of buses otherwise known as LAGBUS is gradually on the increase around the ever busy automobile market and some dealers at the market who spoke to our correspondent have expressed divergent views on the new development.
A cross section of dealers told Shipping Position Daily, that it is welcome development while others disclosed that it will definitely have an adverse effect on the sale of vehicles at the market.
Mr. Emmanuel Ezenwa explained that with the introduction of the transport scheme at the location will create more awareness for buyers adding that commuters would love to know more about the market.
Ezenwa stated that since the introduction of the buses, passengers that patronise the buses have been coming to the market for enquiries, even as he added that most people do not know much about the largest fairly used vehicle market in Nigeria.
He added that there has been no friction since the Lagos state transporters commenced business along the Berger axis of Apapa Oshodi expressway, pointing out that the state government has also contributed more in the area of awareness.
He called on the state government to deploy more buses to the spot adding that the position is strategic for such kind of business.
However, the dealer urged the state government to beautify the premises where the vehicles are positioned to attract more passengers and thereby, creating employment for the youths of the state.
But in a swift reaction, another dealer; Achusim Charles said that the expected high patronage by commuters might lead to outright relocation of the market to other parts of the state.
‘’If the transporters continue to record more monies from this place compared to other branches then there is tendency that the government might want to invest more in and this may lead to their asking us to move out of the place for them’’ he argued.
Achusim added that long queue of the LAGBUS will as well militate against sale of vehicles from the automobile market as vehicles on display may not be visible to prospective buyers.
