The Customs Area Controller in charge of the Ports and Terminal Multiservice Limited (PTML) command, Comptroller Jubril Zakari has appealed to stakeholders operating at the port for their cooperation in other to meet the dynamic demands of the Nigeria Customs.
Compt. Jubril successfully took over yesterday from his successor, Compt. Tunji Aremu who has been redeployed to the Tin Can Island Port Command.
Speaking at a handing-over ceremony at the command yesterday, the new Controller called for the cooperation of the stakeholders at PTML command, even as he assured them of operating a open door policy.
Compt. Jubril also said that taking over from the former controller is a big challenge for him especially with the monthly revenue target that the former has been able to accomplish.
"With this challenge, I will urge and plead to the sectional heads that the corporation given to him should be extended to me, because without your cooperation the achievements cannot be done"
He expressed happiness with the peaceful nature of the PTML command, saying that he has been hearing all that have been happening at the command right from the headquarters.
"So please extend that cooperation and by the grace of God, we will achieve" he pleaded
While giving stewardship of his stay at the command, the former Controller; Tunji Aremu noted that the task at the PTML command has been enormous but that with stakeholders’ support he has always been meeting his monthly revenue target.
According to him, without the stakeholders, the command wouldn’t have achieved what it did.
"The task was enormous, but by the special grace of God, since my arrival here in January, we have always been keeping the pace, and for every success recorded like this it is a collective responsibility, I don’t know how to thank my officers".
"I am delighted because as at this time I am leaving PTML command my target was N7.12billion and this is unprecedented and I will like the new controller to keep up the pace" he said.
Compt. Aremu pleaded that the double portion of the support he received should be accorded to the new helmsman.
He also solicited for prayers in the discharge of his duties at Tin Can ports where he has gone to assume duty.
