NPA Dispels Rumours Of Secret Interviews, Recruitments

The Nigerian Ports Authority has dispelled reports in a section of the media alluding that it is conducting secret recruitments and employments into the agency.

The NPA in statement issued yesterday and signed by its General Manager, Corporate and Strategic Communications; Abdulllahi Goje, said that the report which was carried by some newspapers (Shipping Position Daily not included) was false.
He explained that the report insinuated that it  has embarked on some secret recruitment against directives by President Muhammadu Buhari that Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) should embargo fresh recruitments.

According to the NPA spokesperson, nothing can be farther from the truth. ‘’The Authority states that nothing could be farther from the truth as this process started over one year ago as evident in advertisements for recruitment placed in the November 11, 2016 editions of Daily Sun, The Nation and Daily Trust newspapers’’, it stressed.

However, the NPA also argued that the recruitment exercise followed due process as laid-down by Federal Government

Specifically, the statement added that, not only were the vacancies widely advertised in national dailies and examination conducted across the six geo political zones of the country by reputable consultants, ‘’the vacancies were also well publicised on the recruitment portal of the Authority’s website’’.

The NPA explained further that, ‘’the Federal Character Commission (FCC) is fully involved in this recruitment exercise’’, and that ‘’interviews took place across the six geo-political locations’’.
