NPA Restates Commitment to CSR

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has reiterated its commitment to identifying with the aspirations of its host communities as part of the agency’s corporate social responsibility.
General Manager Board and Legal Adviser of NPA, Mrs. Obiageli Anubi who reiterated this position last week in Lagos when she received a delegation from the Niger Delta University, Bayelsa State on behalf of the Managing Director, Omar Suleiman also said the organization would not only identify with such aspirations of its host communities, but will also support them.

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has reiterated its commitment to identifying with the aspirations of its host communities as part of the agency’s corporate social responsibility.
General Manager Board and Legal Adviser of NPA, Mrs. Obiageli Anubi who reiterated this position last week in Lagos when she received a delegation from the Niger Delta University, Bayelsa State on behalf of the Managing Director, Omar Suleiman also said the organization would not only identify with such aspirations of its host communities, but will also support them.
The delegation from the University were at the NPA to solicit the support of NPA on the forthcoming 10th Anniversary celebrations and Launching of Endowment fund of University slated for May.
Mrs. Anubi assured the delegation led by Professor Lolo Izonfuo, Dean Faculty of science, that their submissions to the Management would be carefully studied, with a view to assisting the institution’s contribution to manpower development.
She explained that the Engineering directorate of the Authority is currently studying the proposal submitted by the University to determine the extent of assistance the Authority would offer to the University.
Professor Izonfuo had earlier briefed the NPA Management on the objectives of the endowment fund and its expected targets as well as the current activities of the University in academic and other academic extra curriculum activities.
He pointed out that the endowment, if properly harnessed will assist in the growth and refurbishment of the 10 year old institution and assured that the University is determined to manage the endowment with all the seriousness it deserves for the benefit of the institution.
