Comptroller Adelaja warned of the dangers posed by smuggling, emphasising its economic, health, and security implications. “All seizures were made in line with the Nigeria Customs Service Act 2023 and the ECOWAS Common External Tariff provisions on import and absolute prohibitions. Adelaja noted that the Command’s actions are rooted in law and driven by a desire to protect national interests”.

On revenue generation, the Area controller revealed a revenue collection of ₦25.78 billion, representing a 36.67% increase compared to ₦18.17 billion generated in the same period of 2024.
