The Police Command in Bayelsa on Sunday confirmed two separate attacks by sea pirates on the Akassa/Yenagoa sea route in Brass Local Government area of the state.
DSP Fidelis Odunna, the Police Public Relations Officer, who confirmed the incident, said the commander in charge of the area reported that the incidents took place on Saturday.
Odunna, however, said that no life was lost and that no arrest had been made.

According to a resident of the area, Mr Domo Adams, the pirates made away with some boats and the engines of some others as well as the personal effects of the passengers of the boats.
The Akass/Brass/Nembe/Yenagoa sea route has recorded several attacks by pirates this year.
