Shipping Position Daily Bags Two Awards In One Month

Less than one month after it was honoured for being the first Nigerian maritime daily, Shipping Position Daily  was honoured again last weekend at a media event to Mark the fifth year anniversary of Transquest  magazine in Lagos.
At a glamorous event that was attended by the crème de la crème of the Nigerian maritime sector, the newspaper was rewarded once again for its foresight and for raising the bar in maritime reportage in the country.

Less than one month after it was honoured for being the first Nigerian maritime daily, Shipping Position Daily  was honoured again last weekend at a media event to Mark the fifth year anniversary of Transquest  magazine in Lagos.
At a glamorous event that was attended by the crème de la crème of the Nigerian maritime sector, the newspaper was rewarded once again for its foresight and for raising the bar in maritime reportage in the country.
The award was received on behalf of the newspaper by its correspondent, Mr Roland Ekama who also expressed appreciation to the publishers of Transquest magazine.
Shipping Position Daily had on May 23, bagged a similar award at a similar event to mark the first anniversary of a maritime industry television programme; Port Gist &Events. The newspaper was honoured as Nigeria’s first daily maritime newspaper.
Also honoured last weekend were some industry stakeholders, including the general manager, public affairs, Nigerian Port Authourity (NPA), Chief Michael  Ajayi, who was honoured as ‘best turn around maritime image maker, the general manager, western port, who was honoured for his excellent performance in port administration, the  national president, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Prince Olayiwola Shittu who bagged the ‘transformation leadership award’ , his counterpart at the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Mr Eugene Nweke who was honoured as  the’ best freight forwarding association leader’. Others were: the maritime editor of Nigerian Tribune, Mr Dele Aderibigbe who emerged as ‘maritime reporter of the year’, and a host of other distinguished practitioners.
Reacting to the latest award, the Editor of Shipping Position Daily, Mr Sesan Onileimo expressed appreciation to the organizers of the awards, even as he commended the ‘can do’ spirit of members of staff of First Mediacon Network Limited; publishers of the newspaper for believing in the vision and their commitment to their individual responsibilities.
“The latest award is a further confirmation of the professionalism for which we have been known for over the years. You will recall what that is today known as Shipping Position Daily actually started as a weekly publication about six years ago before stepping up to a daily publication on January 4, 2012.
