The Sokoto State, Kebbi and Zamfara Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service realised more than N307.5 million revenue in the first half of the year, an official said.
The Area Comptroller, Alhaji Usman Kankara, gave the information in Sokoto on Friday while decorating five senior officers of the command.
He urged officers and men of the command see welfare packages in the service as motivation to redouble their efforts in revenue generation.

“We are ready to provide for those of you who would make your duties effective for the good of the service,” he said.
Giving a break down of the revenue, Kankara said the command generated more than N62.5 million in June, N63.3million in May, and N39.6 million in April.
He said the service collected N63.6 million in March, N47.6 million in February and N30.6 million in January.
Kankara said that the command also impounded contrabands, comprising rice, cooking oil, textile materials, cars and motorcycles valued at N14 million during the period.
He said the 2012 revenue chart showed an increase of N58.6 million more than the N248. 8 million generated last year.
