“We Have No Confidence In CRFFN, We Won’t Attend ANLCA AGM”— Member BoT Elochukwu

A member of the Taiwo Mustapha factional Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Sir Ernest Elochukwu has stated that the aggrieved members of the association do not have confidence in the leadership of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN).

Sir Elochukwu specifically referenced the CRFFN’s intervention in the crisis rocking the association and declared that his group does not believe that the CRFFN would be fair in its mediatory role.

In that regard, Elochukwu who is also a former President of the association confirmed that members loyal to Alhaji Taiwo Mustapha will not be willing to attend the proposed Annual General Meeting (AGM)  of the association scheduled to hold on the 15th of this month at the Eko Hotels and Suite.

Recall that the Chairman of the Governing Council of the CRFFN, Dr. Abubakar Tsanni had initially directed the acting National President of the association; Dr. Kayode Farinto to convene the AGM of the association for March 2nd 2023. The meeting was however postponed to the 15th of March 2023 due to the recent Presidential election.

Elochukwu, while speaking on our sister platform; Shipping Position Live on Star FM in Lagos last week, stated that his faction will not attend the meeting, despite its postponement while stating that except the CRFFN releases the report of the reconciliatory committee set up to look into the crisis.

He lampooned the CRFFN for authorizing the Kayode Farinto faction to carry organise the AGM, despite alleged expiration of the tenure of the National Executives Committee Members (NECOM) of the association.

“Let me make this correction, there is no Alhaji Taiwo Mustapha faction of ANLCA.

There is one ANLCA. Ordinarily, you know what many of us have done for this association, probably what also the association has done for us, it’s a sad commentary that today someone like me is being said to belong to one faction of ANLCA. I believe this is not being fair to me, he said.

While speaking as a guest on the radio programme, Elochukwu explained that, “what happened is that the registered trustees of ANLCA, which is the only registered trustees have said that a tenure of the NECOM that was elected on the 8th of March 2018 in Enugu has expired and every other action that are being taken since the tenure expired on the 16th of April, 2020 has become illegal, null and void, so that has to be established on this forum”.

Explaining the allegation against the CRFFN governing council, he said: “Coming to the issue of the so-called AGM, we are wondering what CRFFN governing council meant by saying that they are authorizing one party involved in the dispute to go and convene an AGM, if that’s how they want it, so be it; they are welcome but then the question is AGM for what to start with”.

“What has become known as ANLCA crisis is a deliberate creation by some person to feather their own nest; fine it has been called ANLCA crisis, now all this time that the crisis has been going on for over four years”.

“I know that a lot of actions have been taken, including the ones taken by this same CRFFN and that was to establish a committee to look into the ANLCA crisis, that was some seven months ago or so, now and this same committee interviewed all the people involved and we learnt that they have come up with their reports and the question is – why won’t they make this report public, because information is telling us that some people within the Governing Council are suppressing the report and then the next thing we hear is that they have been ordered to go and have AGM, AGM for what?” he questioned.

KNOW YOUR BODY PARTS: The Liver The liver is a vital organ located in the right upper abdomen, playing a crucial role in metabolism, detoxification, and digestion. It’s the largest solid organ in the body and is responsible for filtering blood, maintaining blood sugar levels, regulating clotting, and synthesizing essential proteins. The liver also stores energy, removes toxins, and produces bile, which aids in digestion Liver functions: · Metabolism and Detoxification: The liver processes nutrients from the blood, breaks down and balances them, and creates essential substances for the body. It detoxifies harmful substances like drugs and alcohol, converting them into less toxic forms for excretion. The liver plays a role in the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. It stores glycogen (a form of glucose) and vitamins, releasing them when the body needs them. · Digestion: The liver produces bile, which is stored in the gallbladder and released into the small intestine to help digest fats. Bile also helps in the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins. · Blood Regulation: The liver regulates blood sugar levels by storing and releasing glucose. It synthesizes clotting factors, which are essential for blood clotting. It removes old red blood cells and processes bilirubin, a byproduct of red blood cell breakdown. · Other Functions: The liver plays a role in immunity, helping to fight off infections. It produces proteins that are involved in the immune response. The liver also stores iron and other essential minerals. Frequently Asked Questions About The Liver · What are the first signs of a bad liver?
