As part of efforts to further aid the distribution of its products to the nooks and crannies of the country, Winco Foam Industries Limited, makers of Winco foams, and pillows has imported 20 units of brand new vehicles from the Peoples Republic of China through the port of Lagos.
The 20 vehicles which are distribution vans came aboard a vessel called a vessel called MV Hoegh Sydney into the Standard Flour Mills Terminal last week.
Our correspondent who spotted the vehicles known as ‘KAMA’ being transferred out of the terminal to the corporate head office of the Winco in Ikorodu Lagos also gathered that the vehicles were transshipped through Maputo Port in Zimbabwe to Lagos port.
Sources close to the company told our correspondent that the company has been manufacturing high quality foam and bedding products for the past 30 years and that the company has expanded tremendously with three large multi-million naira production plants in Nigeria.
“We set out to achieve high foam quality from the beginning to the end of production and we make effort to ensure that we keep to our mission of providing excellent products and services and giving consumers’ value for money” our source who prefers anonymity said.
He said that some of the mini vans will be distributed to other outlets of the company to ensure effective distribution and as well as home delivery which he described as ‘door to door’ service.
‘’The blue and white Kama brand new vehicles will be used to carry the company’s products, it is meant for servicing our yearning customers who have been complaining about home distribution, the company decided to come up with the initiative of buying and then importing the vehicles to serve that purpose ‘’.
He also said that the company is making a move to import more vehicles from China, stressing that the first set of twenty vehicles will be used for test-running so as to know if they are good for Nigerian roads.
‘’With these set of vehicles, we will know if they can withstand our roads and if they can, we will order for more of the Kama products’’
