AFTER ORDEAL IN THE HANDS OF NIGERIAN PIRATES:

The Malaysian who was kidnapped and held hostage for 20 days by pirates in the waters of Nigeria says he has no plans to work overseas anymore.
George Lipih Ambo, the electrician who worked on a ship owned by Sea Trucks Group and was kidnapped by a band of 15 pirates, said he plans to spend time with his family after going through the traumatic ordeal.

George Lipih Ambo, the electrician who worked on a ship owned by Sea Trucks Group and was kidnapped by a band of 15 pirates, said he plans to spend time with his family after going through the traumatic ordeal.
"I plan to work in Malaysia. I don't want to work overseas anymore. I will go back to Miri, settle a few errands and then spend time with my family and rest," the 42-year-old said when met at the KL International Airport (KLIA) last week.
Earlier, Sarawak Land Development Minister Tan Sri Dr James Masing met George and his family at KLIA to present a personal contribution of RM1,000 and flight tickets to them.
Masing said many Malaysians, especially from Sabah and Sarawak, seek employment in the oil and gas industry overseas.
He acknowledged that work opportunities for such skilled workers are not widely available in Malaysia.
"The state government is duty bound to ensure we have places for people of that ability to work at home, either in Sarawak or other parts of Malaysia," he said.
Masing said the state government hopes that with the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy, more job opportunities will be available for skilled workers in the state.
He also advised those who seek employment in the oil and gas industry to be more selective of the regions they chose to work in.
George, who was born in Sri Aman, Sarawak received an emotional welcome from his family when he arrived last Saturday.
He and his three colleagues from Thailand, Indonesia and Iran were kidnapped by the pirates on Aug 4 and it was reported that two Nigerian naval guards were killed in the attack.
