The Seme Command of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) said it has recorded N814.8 million revenue in May.
The Command’s spokesman, Mr Ernest Olottah, said yesterday in Badagry that the revenue was about N368 million higher than that of April.
He said that the revenue was higher because many people came to clear their cargoes during the month.

“There was an order that trailers coming through the Seme border should be configured to the normal and international standard of articulated trucks.
“Consequently, after the downsizing of the trucks, more people came for clearing and this resulted to higher revenue generation,’’ Olotta said.
He said that the command also made 112 seizures comprising cars, rice, vegetable oil, second-hand clothes and general goods.
The spokesman said that three suspects were arrested for various offences during the period.
Olotta advised members of the public to shun smuggling because of its danger to the economy.
“We need to come together to save our economy by avoiding smuggling and embracing legitimate trade.
“In importing and exporting any product, all protocols must be followed and that include paying levies and duties to the customs,’’ he added.
