ANLCA Chieftain Charges Association President To Apologize To Members

A former Vice Chairman Tin Can Chapter of Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA); Chief Achike Molokwu has charged the national president of the association; Mr  Tony Iju Nwabunike to openly apologize to all aggrieved members, as a step towards resolving the crises that have engulfed the association.

Molokwu while speaking with  Shipping Position Daily at Tin Can Island ports, Lagos last week, reiterated that apologising to different aggrieved factions of the association is the first step towards ensuring lasting peace in ANLCA.

"Every human being born of a woman must soften his ego, we have only one president who is Hon Tony Iju and he is still the president of ANLCA, and we have only one ANLCA, so where are we going, we must definitely come back, he should go on air and apologize whether he is the cause of the problem or not", he advised.

Molokwu however  expressed disappointment that another  association, the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) is taking advantage of the crisis  to wax stronger.

He lamented that: "The NAGAFF members are taking advantage of  the crisis in the association to over ride us,  if you go to Seme and other places, NAGAFF members are flexing their muscles because of the crisis in ANLCA"

"They go around and make noise because of the crisis in the association because ANLCA is divided. Since last year some of these chapters have been due for election, but there is no unity to organize a unified election. Each chapter now organises its own elections".

He maintained that those who have taken cases to court should withdraw the cases from there.

"So I pray that God will give the president that wisdom that he needs for him to come down as the father of the association and apologize and request all members who are angry to please put down their weapon and come together"

"He should also beg those who had gone to court to withdraw their cases from court, that is why the judges are waiting for us to settle", he noted.

"The thing is that most of us who know how court works, once you take a case to the court, you have tightened up the case just like taking a case to the police. If there is a quarrel, it is better one or two persons or elders sit down and settle it", he suggested.
