ANLCA Fixes December 15 for Western Zone Elections

The long- awaited elections  into the executive councils in the Western zone chapters  of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANCLA) have been scheduled for December 15.
This was disclosed by the chairman Association Electoral Committee (ASECO) of ANLCA, Prince Olayiwola Shittu last week in Lagos.
Prince Shittu assured that his committee is working hard to redeem the image of ANLCA which he said was lost since the time of its erstwhile national president Alhaji Sani  Kamba, when, according to him, membership of the association was personalized and it has since then continued.
Shittu pointed out that 78 contestants applied for the 54 available positions in the western zone comprising of nine chapters excluding Apapa that has just completed its tenure.
Giving more insight into details of preparations for the election, he disclosed that 784 members applied as electorates, but only 480 voters were cleared to vote, because they posses the right document and are registered directors of their various companies.
According to him, ASECO has assured of a free and fair election, while measures have been put in place for a smooth exercises. He assured that the electoral process will be open, fair and transparent and that the voter’s cards, ballot papers and candidates’ cards will be given colour identity for each chapter, and that it will be impossible for voters to vote for more than a chapter.
