The Apapa Local Government and Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) have agreed to partner so as to boost commercial activities within the grassroots community.
Executive Chairman of the council, Mr Owolabi Adele, said this in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Dede Emmanuel.
“The visit to NIMASA is aimed at sustaining commerce and industry development in the local government,” he said.
Adele said he is working hard to sustain progress in Apapa local government area and its environs in term of commercial activities.
He said that the collaboration will bring inter-relationship to all industries and ensure effort to curb traffic congestion within the area, lamenting that traffic challenges are posing a great threat to commercial activities in Apapa area.
In his remarks, Dr Bashir Jamoh, the Director General of NIMASA, reportedly promised that the organisation will always support the local government for sustainable growth of commercial activities at the grassroots.
“We will support the sustainable development of economic, commerce and industrial sector within the local government area,” Jamoh said.
