The Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Engineer Omar Suleiman has said that Bonded Terminals are very crucial to Port Operations and therefore Nigerian Ports Authority will continue to encourage their growth and sustenance.
Engineer Omar Suleiman disclosed this yesterday while hosting a meeting between, the Senate Committee on Privatization, The leadership of the Association of Indigenous Bonded Terminal Operators of Nigeria and the Port Terminal Operators held in his office.

Engineer Omar Suleiman disclosed this yesterday while hosting a meeting between, the Senate Committee on Privatization, The leadership of the Association of Indigenous Bonded Terminal Operators of Nigeria and the Port Terminal Operators held in his office.
The Managing Director asserted that in some developed economies, containers are administered outside the port through Bonded Terminals.
Commenting, the Chairman Senate Committee on Privatization, Senator Olugbenga Obadara said his committee was on a visit to NPA for the meeting with a view to finding a lasting solution to the complaints of Bonded Terminal Operators as most of them had invested highly in the off-dock business and their complaints could not be wished away.
Senator Obadara enjoined all Maritime stakeholders to join hands together in order to foster collaboration and ensure smooth port operations. He said a committee that would harmonize the various views and complaints from Bonded Terminal Operators will soon be set up.
Senator Obadara commended the Managing Director of NPA for his achievements and outstanding leadership qualities. The indigenous Bonded Terminal Operators Association of Nigeria was led by its chairman, Mr. Israel Ibanga.
