A freight forwarding company; Talod Ocean Airfreight has been given an international certificate merit award by the World Customs Organisation (WCO) headed by Mr Kunio Mukuriya as the Secretary General.
Talod Ocean Airfreight is owned by the immediate past Chairman of the Governing Council, of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN); Alhaji Hakeem Olanrewaju.
The World Customs Organization’s award is an international recognition for private organizations endorsed by the National Customs having obtained a clean bill of professional practices by the FIATA for outstanding trade compliance, qualitative logistics services and participation in the global trade initiative programs; which in the local parlance is referred to as Compliant Declarant/Trader.
The WCO certificate of merit is an international award which every duly- established freight forwarding firms or practitioner aspires and look forward to earn in the course of its or his professional career.
Each year, during the International Customs Day cerebration, Customs Services of each nation is encouraged to nominate a national organization which meets the stipulated criteria to represent Nigeria private sector in this category for merit certificate award.
As stated in the certificates given to Talod Ocean Airfreight, it is for: "Rendering Exceptional Services To The International Customs Communities".
The award was presented by the Comptroller General of Customs, Col.Hameed Ali at the just-concluded International Customs Day Celebration, held in Abuja.
The CEO of Talod; Hakeem Olanrewaju in his appreciation remarks, thanked the WCO & the Nigeria Customs Service for considering his company worthy of this merit award.
He equally thanked and commended the company’s management team and staff, even as he dedicated the award to young freight forwarders who are aspiring for professionalism and international best practices in all strata of the maritime industry. He encouraged them not to relent.
