CRFFN Partners Institutions In Six Geo-Political Zones

The Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria [CRFFN] is partnering with some higher institutions in the six geo – political zones across the country for the training of its members.
Speaking at a one day official visit of CRFFN management to the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders [NAGAFF] in Lagos last week, the Director of Education and Research of CRFFN ,Mr. Alban Igwe said that in section 13 [4] of the Act which established the CRFFN, education was made a mandatory function of the Council.

Speaking at a one day official visit of CRFFN management to the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders [NAGAFF] in Lagos last week, the Director of Education and Research of CRFFN ,Mr. Alban Igwe said that in section 13 [4] of the Act which established the CRFFN, education was made a mandatory function of the Council.
Igwe said that registered freight forwarders in CRFFN irrespective of their qualifications can become a Doctorate holder or master’s degree holder, in collaboration with the higher institutions.
In order to achieve the desire higher qualification for registered freight forwarders, the director of education and research said that the council has engaged in the services of some university and training providers from the six geopolitical zones of the federation.
‘’At the momen,t we have strategic partnership with federal university of Technology, Owerri [FUTO] representing the south east, in the south south we have the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron ,in the southwest we have the Redeemers University on the Lagos – Ibadan expressway,  in the north west we have Nigeria Institute of Transport Technology [NITT]and in the north eas,t we have Federal University of Yola and in the north central we have Benue State University ‘’,Igwe added.
 We selected them from the six geo- political zone and before long, we are going to include Abuja and increase the capacity in Lagos based on the fact that many of the people in question are in Lagos.
According to him, the six higher institutions in conjunction with CRFFN provides programmes ranging  from Diploma to PHD in courses on freight forwarding, logistics, transport , international trade and others.
He said that the council also has international partners in the area of capacity building that spread across Europe and Asia
‘’We have international partners in Netherland, Singapore, United Kingdom, India and we are exploring Canada to give you a wide range of latitude to choose whatever you can and we have programmes ranging from one week ,six months to degree programmes which gives room for flexibility ‘’.
Igwe also added that there are special training programmes for Chief Executives of organizations that will travel out of the country for the courses.
He said that apart from the qualification obtained by freight forwarders, there is the need to have ideas in other works of live,s stressing that experience is the best teacher
