The Training of Trainers (TOT) programmes organized by the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) is carried out at no cost to the participants, so says the National President of the Association of Registered Freight Forwarders of Nigeria (AREFFN) Dr. Frank Ukor.
Dr. Ukor was reacting to a recent story by Shipping Position Daily in which he was reported to have said that the ToT is too expensive for the freight forwarders it was intended for. But in another chat with our correspondent, he affirmed that the ToT is a free programme being run by the CRFFN to equip individuals who will in turn train other freight forwarders.
“Nobody pays any fees for Train the Trainers, it is free, and it is not for everybody, it is just for some selected people, and before you can attend that programme you must have a Masters degree”
He however insisted that the executive diploma programmes organized by the Council is very expensive and that the Council should try and bring down the price so that more practitioners can benefit from the programme.
“It was just few people that attended the programme because of the cost, it is not that people do not like the training, they like it because it is for capacity building, but what I think we should be doing is to bring down the cost so that more people will be able to attend” Ukor said.
