A maritime industry pressure group, the Save Nigeria Freight Forwarders Importers Exporters Coalition [SNFFIEC] has announced the dismissal of its deputy national coordinator and legal adviser Barrister Emmanuel Osuala Nwagbara alongside three other executive members of the coalition, signaling a break in the rank of the leadership of the nascent group.

Speaking in an interview with newsmen on Wednesday in Lagos, the National Coordinator of the body; Chief Patrick Osita Chukwu stated that some of the ousted members are conspiring to float another maritime association while others are not competent enough to pilot the affairs of the coalition.
He explained that some members of the group are also creating conflict of interest and confusion in the system.
Chukwu said that the legal adviser was ousted as a result of misrepresenting the group during the registration with the Corporate Affair Commission [CAC].
‘’We expelled barrister Nwagbara Osuala from our association due to the fact that he failed to get our association well registered with the [CAC],we told him to clarify the mission and vision of our association which he failed to do’, Chukwu alleged.
‘’For him not to be able to address that issue with the CAC made us to expell him from the group’’ he confirmed.
The national coordinator stated that the executive secretary, Mr Emeka Chukwumalu on his part, was expelled due to his inability to represent the group well.
Others that were affected include: the Public Relations Officer; Henry Chioke, who Chukwu accused of masterminding the idea of deceiving some of the members to float another association, while Mr. Ejike, the Financial Secretary was removed on the account of alleged irregularities.
According to the coordinator, the group moved the motion to expel the four affected members based on available evidence.
He said that “our group is meant to address the ills in the maritime sector and we are not an association like other maritime associations and what we represent is purely activism, therefore members cannot play politics with our group’’.
