The Controller Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone ‘A’ Ikeja, Comptroller Dan Ugo, on officially handed over the instruments of possession of container laods of independent power projects equipment which had been in the custody of the Nigeria Customs Service as overtime cargo to the Minister, State for power, Dairus Ishaku on behalf of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Alhaji Abdullahi Dikko Inde.
The Controller Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone ‘A’ Ikeja, Comptroller Dan Ugo, on officially handed over the instruments of possession of container laods of independent power projects equipment which had been in the custody of the Nigeria Customs Service as overtime cargo to the Minister, State for power, Dairus Ishaku on behalf of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Alhaji Abdullahi Dikko Inde.
While handing over the documents to the Minister, the FOU controller remarked that the “Nigeria Customs Service under the present CGC will continue to partner with the Federal Government in her efforts to revive the power sector”, even a s heapplauded the Federal Government for demonstrating capacity to deal with the power situation in the country through the various programmes and policies which have resulted in significant improvement in power generation and distribution.
Receiving the documents, the Minister thanked the Comptroller General of Customs for the safe custody of the equipment and promised to ensure that the equipment are distributed to the three areas of generation, transmission and distribution to boost electricity supply.
The Minister was accompanied by the permanent secretary of power, Dr. (Mrs.) Deere Awosika and other top officials.
