The Port and Terminal Multi-Service Limited (PTML) command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) said it generated 33.8 billion in the last six months.
The Area Controller, Mr Tajudeen Olanrewaju, announced this to newsmen yesterday in Lagos.
Olanrewaju said that the amount was N100 million higher than the 33.7 billion generated in the corresponding period in 2012.
He said that the amount would have been higher if a shipping firm, MAERSK Line, had not withdrawn its patronage of the command.

He said that the amount would have been higher if a shipping firm, MAERSK Line, had not withdrawn its patronage of the command.
“The command was told that MAERSK Line now own bigger ships that could only berth at deep seaports,” he said.
He added that within the last six months, the command also seized some consignment for various reasons such as false declaration.
According to him, the seized items include six vehicles, two 20ft containers of printed WAX, two 40ft containers of plastic wears, gift items, furniture and fireworks.
He said that the clearing of cargo at the command had improved because it took about 12 hours to clear a vehicle.
