The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) said it had stepped up efforts to engage its stakeholders actively to improve business interaction and enhance national security consciousness.
The agency stated this in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja by the Customs Public Relations Officer; Mr Wale Adeniyi.
The statement said the NSC had also put in place a mechanism to provide round-the-clock service to its stakeholders and members of the general public.

The statement said the NSC had also put in place a mechanism to provide round-the-clock service to its stakeholders and members of the general public.
It added that it was for that reason NSC management decided to launch its social media platforms on Facebook and Twitter.
“The new social media platform will complement existing efforts in the traditional media to combat the scourge of online scammers currently duping innocent and unsuspecting citizens," it said.
The statement said that the Facebook and Twitter accounts for the service were opened following the recent approval of a new Social Media Policy given by the NCS management.
According to the statement, the Facebook and Twitter accounts are parts of a wider Social Media outreach that will include a Customs YouTube channel, online educational videos and blog press.
“To ensure continuity, the NCS has designated, trained and equipped social media desk officers from the Public Relations Department as schedule officers,’’ the statement added.
