Commercial activities at the trailer park, popular ‘Abuja park’ situated opposite the Tin Can Island Port have  been grounded for the past three days following the death of the chairman National Road Transport Owners (NARTO),Tin Can Island Chapter; Alhaji Moshood Rabiu popularly called ‘Olopagogo’.

Shipping Position Daily gathered that the NARTO boss was killed last weekend on his way home by suspected robbers in Lagos.
The death has also crippled transport activities within Tin Can Island port as friends and colleagues in the haulage business mourn the deceased, whom our correspondent gathered was buried on Sunday in Osun State according to Muslim rites.

Food vendors, artisans, drivers, truck owners and motor boys were found within the premises yesterday in a sober mood.
Sources also disclosed that some irate youths in the garage went on rampage over his death, but the situation was reportedly brought under control by top officials of the association.

However, Chairman Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) Tin Can Port Chapter ,Alhaji Isiaka Olalere confirmed the death of the NARTO leader to our correspondent, even as he expressed shock over the incident.

Olalere described the death of the NARTO boss as a setback to truck owners, adding that the late Moshood was a true leader.
He however assured that business activities will commence today (Teusday) adding that the closure of the park was to pay their last respect to the slain NARTO boss.
"Majority of us in the park love him, because he was a nice man and he was a leader indeed. He was one of the pillars of the park and he was the man in front whenever we have issues here so we are to pay our last respect to him", Olalere stated.
