The Comptroller-General (CG) of Nigeria Customs Service, Alhaji Abdullahi Dikko has called for immediate resolution of the conflict between customs officers and soldiers in Katsina State.
This is contained in a statement issued by Customs Deputy Public Relations Officer, Mr Joseph Attah.
In the statement, Dikko described the circumstances that led to the “unfortunate conflict as insensitive and tactically wrong''.
He directed the Customs Area Controller to immediately liaise with the Army Commanding Officer and resolve the conflict amicably.

He called for caution in the face of current security challenges, noting that firing of a gun while pursuing smugglers near a military barracks was tactically wrong and insensitive on the part of the Customs operatives.
“We are partners working for the common good of the nation,’’ Dikko said.
