Apparently determined to meet the yearnings of clearing agents and importers who clear vehicles out of its terminal, Clarion Shipping West Africa Limited has created a customer care unit [CCU] to address complaints of clients.
As part of the company’s restructuring efforts, the management of the off-dock terminal has also advised consignees and their agents to take their complaints to the new department so as  to address issues that affect them in the clearing procedures and the conditions of their vehicles.

The leading off-dock vehicular terminal has said that all the complaints received henceforth will be treated with professional attention so as to give its best to those who make use of the terminal.
General Manager of the organization, Chief Frank Okocha told Shipping Position Daily in Lagos, last week that the company is trying to ensure that with the new development, agents can either write or complain orally to the customer care unit.
According to him, the new unit is one of the ways through which the firm is trying to ensure that customers get the best in service delivery.
Okocha noted that some agents appreciate the fact that such a unit is good to be put in place to address issues that surround clearing of vehicles from the terminal while some also complain that it is a waste of time, but he added that everyone will appreciate the essence of the newly- created unit.
According to Okocha, ‘’complaints by agents are enormous and apart from the issue of charges by the terminal, they  also complain about the conditions of their vehicles even when there is a mere scratch on the vehicle and that is why we said we should look into such areas and treat it professionally and with care’’.
‘’Agents and consignees are however advised to avail themselves of this opportunity and take any complaints they have to the unit and this gesture is to ensure that all agents and consignees and our valued customer generally, will henceforth receive professional care and attention for their complaints’ ’,he added.
He also advised agents to take the pain to check documents properly before coming forth with their complaints as some the complaints are ordinary excuses that are baseless.
‘’We hereby appeal to all our clients, importers and agents to cooperate as we hope that this measure will assist everybody to have a more successful and delightful experience at the terminal’’.
However the general manger pointed out that complaints by agents and importers on imported used vehicles that are transferred to the off- dock terminal are more when compared to complaints on new vehicles and added that most of the agents clear fairly used vehicles from the terminal, this is the more reason  for the creation of the unit, he added.
