The Eastern Ports Police Command of the Nigerian Ports Authourity (NPA) which has its Headquarters at the Rivers Port in Port Harcourt now has a new Commissioner. He is Mr. Victor Nosa Ojo; a Deputy Commissioner of Police.
He will be overseeing all the activities of policing the ports in Port Harcourt , Onne, Calabar and Warri.
Mr. Ojo takes over from the former Commissioner; Mr. Tijani Baba who has been redployed to Abuja as the new boss in charge of Federal Operations, Abuja.

Until his appointment, Mr. Victor Nosa Ojo was the Deputy Commissioner in the Ekiti State Police Command.
Meanwhile, the new Police Commissioner has since started familiarization visits to areas under his command,the new Commissioner has visited the Divisional Police, Port Harcourt port, where he harped on effective policing of the port as being critical to the growth of trade, commerce and revenue improvement of the federal government, through trade, imports and exports.
Mr. Ojo advised officers to be responsible and be of good conduct in the discharge of their responsibilities. The new CP also canvassed for the need for policemen at the Port to evolve good and cordial working relationship among themselves as policemen, and with other security arms of the federal government and other port stakeholders.
In a brief remark while welcoming the commissioner , the of DPO of Port Harcourt Area 1, Chief Superintendent, Mrs, Chika Obiyom said the division was happy to have a new boss.
The new Commissioner also visited Customs formations within Port Harcourt port, that is, Ports and Terminal Operators Limited (PTOL), and BUA.
