Emirates Shipping Line has announced general rate increases on its Far East & South-East Asia to East Africa / Indian Subcontinent / Middle East services.
From 1 June, prices will rise on Far East & South-East Asia to East Africa rates US$250 per teu; on Far East & South-East Asia to the Indian Subcontinent $200/teu and to the Middle East $400/teu.
Then on 15 June, prices will rise on Far East & South-East Asia to the Indian Subcontinent $150/teu and to the Middle East $300/teu.

Also on 1 June, MSC will raise prices on all cargo from Burgas, Varna, Poti, Asdod, Haifa and Limassol to Asia by $200 per teu or feu.
Meanwhile, OOCL said yesterday: “Ocean freight rates continue to be below the required level to cover basic operating costs or transportation costs on our transatlantic trade.”
It told customers it considered current levels unsustainable for the long term and also announced GRIs.
From 1 July, price rises of $450 per teu and $600 for 40ft and 45ft containers on both westbound and eastbound between Europe and Canada (and the US via Canadian ports); $400/teu and $500/40ft and 45ft westbound and eastbound between Europe and the US; and $200/teu and $300/40ft and 45ftwestbound and eastbound between Europe and Mexico.
