Farinto Declares Intention To Run As President Of ANLCA

Immediate past Chairman of the Tin Can Island Port Chapter of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) Dr. Kayode Farinto has declared his intentions of vying for the coveted presidential seat of the association come 2014.

Farinto told Shipping Position Daily in Lagos over the weekend that contesting for the post of the president of the association is legitimate even as he added that the pre requisite of contesting a position is for one to be a registered licensed customs agent.

"Of course yes, I will love to contest as the president of ANLCA because it is a
Legitimate thing to do".

"I am a licensed customs agent and the pre requisite is that you must be licensed, I have my license and in fact my intention is to run as the next ANLCA president”. He revealed.

He pointed out that ANLCA is surrounded by various cliques thus he is duty bound to step down for the leader of his own clique prince Ozo Chukwura if he wishes to contest the post of the president.

"Even though we have caucuses in ANLCA, Ozo is my leader and if he is coming out, I am duty bound to step down for him".

"So I will wait for my time, I am still very young, president Shittu was a chairman twenty something years ago and he is our president today".

"Even though president Shittu is coming back to contest, we will still close ranks because there is what we call re- aligning and aligning in ANLCA politics and it is allowed but it is never a sin if you have any aspiration to contest".

It would be recalled that Farinto had been disqualified in the Tin Can Island election of ANLCA which held in July 2013 amidst a lot of controversies.
