Frontline indigenous oil company, Folawiyo Energy, has announced that with effect from the 3rd of April 2013, it will no longer be carrying out night operations and loading of petroleum products.
Even though it gave no explanation for this new development, the downstream oil and gas company has also said that working hours for members of its staff have also changed and that staff now resume work by 8.am and close work by 4.pm.

The information was contained in a document signed by the company’s Human Resources Manager, Mr. Gboyega Oduwole, a copy of which was sighted by Shipping Position Daily in Lagos last week.
The depot,  as one of the major partners and distributors of petroleum product for the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) before now usually engage in loading of products at night.
But part of the document stated that: “This is to inform all staff members that effective tomorrow Wednesday 3, April 2013 and until further notice, our resumption time will be 7.pm while closing time will be 4.pm”
“Meanwhile the evening truck loading activities as earlier announced between 4.pm to 8.pm will continue until further notice”, it stated even as it added that “this directive does not affect other employees on essential duties”.
Stakeholders in the sector however told our correspondent that there is no cause for alarm over the development. According to them, there are other big depots engaging in fuel distribution and this move will not amount to scarcity.
