Following the recent closure of the ‘’Any Man’’ Canteen at the Tin Can Island Port [TICT] in Lagos, Freight Forwarders has called on the Management of Five Star Logistics terminal to put in place a self-service restaurant to save time.
According to a large number of agents who spoke to our correspondent last week, since the closure of the popular canteen at the Tincan port complex, process of clearing vehicles from the RORO terminal has been relatively slow as most agents do not have a conducive place to eat or drink.

A member of the Association of Nigeria License Customs Agents [ANLCA] who preferred anonymity in a chat with our correspondent called on the management of the terminal to set up a restaurant for agent due to the closure of the popular Any Man canteen.
The ANLCA chieftain explained that other terminals within the Tin Can Port have a good restaurant where agents can refresh themselves whenever the need arise, but that Five Star Logistics terminal which has a large number of agents coming in to clear vehicles, needs to have a place to refresh themselves.
According to him, some members of the association have been in discussion with the management of the terminal but they are yet to come up with anything positive.
He said that if the terminal operator can afford to put in place a cafeteria for agent, it will enhance faster clearance of vehicles from the terminal.
The agent explained that ‘’every other terminal at the port has a conducive restaurant where agents eat and drink, but Five Star told us that they have mapped out a place where they are going to use as restaurant’’
In a similar reaction, Comrade Taye Olalekan urged the management of the terminal to assist agent with a place where they can eat, according to him, it will help to enhance faster clearing of vehicles from the terminal.
Olalekan called on the management to create an enabling environment for agents to carry out their duties effectively for the terminal.
