Commissioning the plant, Gov. Ameachi applauded Indorama for the feat and observed that the project will help to fast – track industrialization in Rivers State, even as he noted that the plant has capacity to address unemployment.
While he said that the project will give support to the country to realize its vision 20-20-20, he observed that the plague of unemployment, will give way to job creation through the inputs of the petrochemical company.
According to him, the plant will attract more companies that will engage idle hands to become productive.
Gov. Ameachi noted that it is only through meaningful engagement of idle youths that crime and violence will be addressed, he also used the occasion to caution youths, urging them to desist from harassing companies operating in the state.
While he commended Indorama for the strides, he reminded it to live up to its social responsibilities to the host community of Eleme.
