The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) says the country’s exports trade will thrive better with holistic logistics and freight operations.
NEPC’s Executive Director, Mrs Nonye Ayeni, said this in Owerri, on Thursday, during a seminar on advancing export strategies for optimal economic performance, organised by the Council for existing and potential exporters in Imo.
Ayeni, represented by the NEPC’s Coordinator in Imo, Mr Anthony Ajuruchi, spoke on the theme: “Optimising Logistics and Freight for Global Trade”.
She said that exporters could take advantage of innovative technologies and strategies that provide the key to successful freight operations for global shipping of products.
She called on the exporters to maximise available logistics services by interacting and exchanging ideas with colleagues in the African Free Trade Area, to enhance business cooperation and improve their trade operations in the country’s corridors.
Ayeni said that as the global trade landscape continued to evolve, it was essential for businesses to stay informed and adapt to changing circumstances by prioritising export logistics and freight.
She added that this would not only improve business performance, but also help in mitigating risks and ensuring compliance.
According to Ayeni, such response by the exporters would enhance their competitive edge, improve customer satisfaction, reduce costs and increase efficiency of their operations and services.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the seminar was attended by no fewer than 70 stakeholders including logistics and freight services operators such as Zenith Carex Logistics.
Others are Equatorial Logistics from Lagos; Bright Flow Logistics Services from Calabar; Light Zoba Limited from Imo, and Hinstock Foods from Abuja attended virtually.
Also in attendance were representatives of NAFDAC; SMEDAN; the Technology Incubation Centre; St Ann’s Cashew and the Imo Investment Promotion Agency.
