According to the statistics obtained by our correspondent from the Nigerian Port Authority revealed that 1,595 units of fairly used vehicles were recorded at Standard Flour Mills in the month of July while Port and Terminal Multiservice Limited handled a total of 3,600 units of vehicles, even as Five Star Logistics terminal for the seventh month running recorded the highest volume with 8,276 units.
Five Star Logistics Limited handled a total of 16 vessels laden with both new and fairly- used vehicles even as 2,715 units of new vehicles were recorded in the terminal while 5,561 units of used vehicles made it to the terminal in the month of July.
Statistics obtained by Shipping Position Daily also revealed that 12 vessels loaded with 300 units each of unclassified vehicles, came into PTML with these vehicles.
Grande Atlantico ,Imola Express , Grande Morocco ,,Grande Brazil , Grande Angola, Rep Di Brazil, Grande Ghana, Grande Guinea, Grande Africa, Grande Coastal Di Avorio ,Grande Gabon and Suzuka Express; all came in with 300 units of vehicles each to PTML at the Tin Can Island port in Lagos.
Meanwhile, Standard Flour Mills [SFM] on its part handled four vessels laden with used vehicles in the month of July.
Shipping Position Daily recalls that the months of May and June recorded a relatively high volume of vehicles into the country which was a total of 11,578 and 12, 497 units, respectively.
In April, a total of 9,512 units were recorded in the Lagos ports, while March had 10,393 units and in January the ports recorded 9,625 units of both new and used vehicles, while February recorded 9615 units.
