The Seme border command of the Nigeria Customs Service said that it recently arrested an HIV positive pregnant woman with 16 blocks of cannabis even as it said that the lady delivered a baby boy while under arrest.
The command's area Controller; Othman Abdul Saleh disclosed this to newsmen yesterday at Seme border and added that the same day the suspect was arrested was the same day she was under labour.

The command's area Controller; Othman Abdul Saleh disclosed this to newsmen yesterday at Seme border and added that the same day the suspect was arrested was the same day she was under labour.
Othman said that when his officers noticed that the suspect was in some pains, she was taken to a nearby hospital where series of test were carried out confirming that she is HIV positive.
According to him, she was allowed to stabilise before she was handed to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Othman who refused to disclose the identity of the woman, however pointed out that the NDLEA will continue from where the Customs investigations stopped.
The command's boss stated that, "the very day that she was arrested, the very night she started labour and was rushed to where she eventually delivered a baby boy".
"She developed some complications, so our officers had to rush her to a general hospital ,she was treated, she was examined ,some test were carried out and they confirmed that she was HIV positive", he disclosed further.
"We allowed her to stabilise before we handed her over together with the drugs to the NDLEA”, he stressed.
He added that the woman was arrested in a Sport Utility Van (SUV) where the cannabis was concealed in a container in a compartment of the vehicle.
