The crisis rocking the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria at the Port Harcourt refinery depot has deepened further with two groups laying claims to the leadership.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the groups claimed that the crisis could lead to scarcity of petroleum products in the South-South and South-East regions, if not settled immediately.
One of the groups, led by Chief Simeon Monokpo, told newsmen in Port Harcourt last w eek that its members were the authentic leaders of IPMAN at the refinery.

Monokpo alleged that the other group, led by Chief Samuel Osarujor, was illegal.
According to him, there is a court injunction restraining Osarujor and his group from parading themselves as executives of the association.
Osarujor said as an independent marketer in the downstream sector, it would be impossible for him to export petroleum products to other countries without licence to do so.
He said that he had done so much to move the group forward and reposition it to meet new challenges.
