Kogi To Join League Of Oil Producing States — Wada

Gov. Idris Wada of Kogi, says Kogi will soon join the league of oil producing states in the federation.
Wada made the announcement at the inauguration of Orient Petroleum's production facility in Aguleri-Otu in Anambra last week.
He commended the Chairman of Orient Oil, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, for his effort in building the refinery.
Wada, who was represented by his deputy, Mr Yomi Awoniyi, said that Kogi  was excited over the inauguration of the refinery.

Wada, who was represented by his deputy, Mr Yomi Awoniyi, said that Kogi  was excited over the inauguration of the refinery.
"Kogi State will be a major stakeholder in the refinery, considering the recent discovery and exploration of oil wells in Odeke Community in Ibaji Local Government Area of the state," Awoniyi said.
He stressed that the state was doing everything humanly possible to resolve the issues surrounding the location of the oil wells with the contending states.
Wada thanked President Goodluck Jonathan,for his local content initiative in the building of the first refinery in an inland basin in the country.
The governor of Anambra, Mr Peter Obi, said that the refinery would bring busines opportunities to the state.
Obi noted that the 20,000 barrel per day capacity of the refinery would go a long way in sustaining the economy of the nation.
