Lagos Port Handles 9625 Units Of Vehicles In February

Even as the month of January witnessed importation of a total of 9,625 units of both new and fairly used vehicles into the country, there has been a slight decline in the volume of vehicular importation into the country through Lagos ports in February as a total of 9,615 vehicles were imported.
Going by the statistics from the Nigerian Port Authority [NPA], the month of February recorded low importation of brand new vehicles as against January that had higher units of imported new vehicles.

Even as the month of January witnessed importation of a total of 9,625 units of both new and fairly used vehicles into the country, there has been a slight decline in the volume of vehicular importation into the country through Lagos ports in February as a total of 9,615 vehicles were imported.
Going by the statistics from the Nigerian Port Authority [NPA], the month of February recorded low importation of brand new vehicles as against January that had higher units of imported new vehicles.
The month of January, 2012 recorded a total of 3,646 units of new vehicles as against February that recorded just 700 units.
Five Star Logistics terminals maintained the top position on importation of vehicles into the port as it was in January. The RoRo terminal handled a total 4,780 units of vehicles, out of which 700 were new. The 700 units of the new vehicles arrived at the Tin Can Island port on the 2nd of February on board a vessel called Favourite.
Statistics revealed that a vessel called Thebeland arrived at the terminal on the 29th of February with 60 units of fairly- used vehicles; Maestro Sun arrived on the 17th with 250 units, while Sunrise Ace came in on the 4th of February with 700 units.
Furthermore, Bergamot Ace came in on the 8th   of the same month  with a 1,000 units of fairly- used vehicles ,Imola Express recorded a total of 480 units on the 22nd of last month.MV Dvyi Adriatic arrived at Five Star Logistics terminal with a total of 340 unit of Tokunboh vehicles on the 25th ,Celandine came into the terminals on the 2nd with 300 units of used vehicles and finally Mermaid Ace called at Five Star with 1,000 units of tokunboh vehicles on the 10th of last month
Meanwhile, the Port and Terminal Multiservice Limited handled a total of 3,300 units of used vehicles at the Tin Can Island port in the month of February.
Available statistics revealed that all the vessels that made it to the terminal with used vehicles recorded 300 units each. MV. Grande Gabon arrived on the 25th of February, Rep di Argentina came into the terminal on the 29th day of February, Grande Atlantico arrived on the 22nd, and Rep di Amalfi came in on the 223rd of last month.
Grande Congo arrived at PTML with used vehicles on the 15th, Rep di Roma arrived on the 12th, Grande Nigeria and Grande Morocco both made it to the terminals of PTML on the 11th of last month while MV Spagna arrived at the terminal on the 15th of last month with 300 units of used vehicles.
Newly vehicle terminal Standard Flour Mills (SFM) recorded a total of 1,535 as against 1,070 units recorded in January, A clear indication that the terminal is improving.
Three vessels which arrived at SFM terminal with used vehicles in February were: MV Hoegh Kyoto which arrived with 520 units on the 24th of February, Hoegh Singapore came in with 515 units of used vehicles and  the third vessel that made it to the terminal was Hoegh Brasila with 500 units of used vehicles.
