Lagos Ports Handled 9,735 units of Vehicles in February, 2013

 Apapa port and the Tin Can Island port last month jointly handled a total of 9,735 units of both new and used vehicles.
Statistics released by the Nigerian Ports Authority [NPA] has also shown that the importation of vehicles in the month of February dropped, compared to the figure in January.
Five Star Logistics terminal at the Tin Can port handled a total of 4,993 units of both used and new vehicles; as a total of 3,421 units of new vehicles were imported to the terminal while 1,572 units of used vehicles made it to the terminal.

 Apapa port and the Tin Can Island port last month jointly handled a total of 9,735 units of both new and used vehicles.

Five Star Logistics terminal at the Tin Can port handled a total of 4,993 units of both used and new vehicles; as a total of 3,421 units of new vehicles were imported to the terminal while 1,572 units of used vehicles made it to the terminal.
Also, a total of 10 vessels made it to Five Star Logistics terminal in the month of February.
The NPA statistics also showed that Ports and Terminal Multiservice Limited (PTML) also at the Tin Can port handled 2,700 units of unclassified vehicles last month which came in aboard a total of nine vessels.
However Greenview Development Nigeria Limited (GDNL) at the Apapa port handled 1,062 units of new truck heads. Our correspondent gathered that the truck heads belong to the Dangote Group and that they are made in China.
Meanwhile, Standard Flour Mills also at the Apapa port handled a total of 980 units of used vehicles.
