Maersk Line claimed its Daily Maersk liner service has achieved “absolute” reliability in its first six months transporting containers from Asia to Europe.
The “conveyor belt” service attained average reliability of 97 percent since its launch in October and more recently has been hitting 99 percent, the Danish carrier said.
The service, which offers daily cut-off time for containers shipped from four Asian ports to Felixstowe, Rotterdam and Bremerhaven, has carried more than 93,500 containers for more than 900 customers during the period.

The service, which offers daily cut-off time for containers shipped from four Asian ports to Felixstowe, Rotterdam and Bremerhaven, has carried more than 93,500 containers for more than 900 customers during the period.
“We are extremely pleased to see the on-time delivery rate for Daily Maersk improving month by month. We are truly delivering on our promise of absolute reliability,” said Ole Pradsgaard, Daily Maersk project leader.
Maersk said the service is gaining popularity on the world’s biggest trade corridors- it has transported more than 17,000 containers from Yantian, China, to Felixstowe in the past six months.
The carrier credits the 70-ship Daily Maersk’s popularity with shippers for boosting its Asia-Europe market share to an all-time high of 19.4 percent by the end of 2011.
The Daily Maersk also has helped reduce the carbon footprint of the supply chain by producing approximately 13 percent lower CO2 emissions per container shipped than the industry average on the Asia-North Europe trade, Maersk said.
